A graduate of Varvakeios (Greek experimental school), Mr. Papapetropoulos holds a BSc Hons in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and an MA in European Economics (with Distinction) from the University of Exeter.

Following his graduation, he was awarded a Robert Schuman scholarship and consequently worked at the European Parliament.

Mr. Papapetropoulos started his career at KPMG Peat Marwick in London where he became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. He, later, joined IDV of the Grand Metropolitan PLC in London and was a key member of the working group for the acquisition of METAXA SA, as Director of Finance and Business Planning.  Following, he co-founded and served as General Manager of ABC Factors, a subsidiary of Alpha Bank. During his tenure, the company evolved to a market leader in the domestic Factoring and Forfaiting services industry.  

He was later appointed General Finance Manager of the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games and then Executive Director of the Organizing Committee.

Mr. Papapetropoulos is the CFO of the shipping company Metrostar (Theodore G. Aggelopoulos Group), specialising in Corporate Development (Mergers & Acquisitions) and business financing.  

He lives in Greece and has three children.
